I've spoken with the woman in charge of the convention and we have finalized a time for you all to come. All AVID volunteers will need to be at the Civic Center Saturday, October at 9:00 am. You will go to the Heritage Room (That's the same room as the college fair we attended this past Tuesday). I will assist you with signing in and getting the information on where you will need to be.

Remember we have our site team meeting today. If any of you students have anything you need brought up then please tell your AVID student representatives so they can bring up your issues today. We want your opinions, comments and suggestions!

Today we went through the tutorial request form and I know I learned some new things. I hope all of you AVID students did too!

We have another opportunity for a community service. The Amarillo Zoo will be hosting Boo at the Zoo this year on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of October. We have chosen Saturday, October 28th from 5pm to 9pm to volunteer. There will be candy, crafts and fun costumes for the kids.

Several have already signed up to do this and if you would like to join in then just get with Mrs.Moran or Mrs.Monzon.

The car wash will be at the Advanced Auto Parts off Gem Lake and Amarillo Blvd. (near Tascosa Rd. Wal-Mart). Everyone will need to be there at 11am and please remember to bring your supplies. Hope to see you there!!

The date for the AVID Parent Night has been moved to September 18th from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. This is going to be the FIRST Parent Night for the year so make sure you all have it marked on your calendars.
